To coincide with Autism Awareness Month in April, a dedicated season of films about autism is being launched by education charity FILMCLUB.

The Understanding Autism season will feature ten films specially selected to increase young people’s understanding and awareness of the condition.

The season will include titles such as A Is for Autism, an award-winning documentary created by people with autism, the touching animation Mary and Max, about a pen pal relationship between a middle-aged New Yorker and an eight year-old girl, both of whom are autistic, and Rainman, perhaps the best known on-screen portrayal of autism.
The season is part of the charity’s major new Power of Film campaign which aims to highlight the ability of film to educate people about topics they may not normally encounter.
