The BBC has selected Research Autism as the featured charity for its Lifeline programme to be broadcast on Sunday 22 April on BBC1 at 16.05 and on Wednesday 25 April on BBC 2 at 13.30.
The network’s monthly television charity appeal will feature a ten minute film about the charity’s work presented by Carrie Grant, pop vocal coach and presenter of the BBC’s One Show.
As the mother of two children on the autistic spectrum, Carrie says that she is keen to front the programme because she understands how hard living with autism can be for those with the condition and their families.
“We need research because the very thing someone on the spectrum feels is misunderstood. If they could understand the condition and know that others understood their condition it would make dealing with it a lot easier”, she says.
