UK charity Beatbullying has announced its 6th annual “Anti-Bullying Week” for 16-21 November 2009. The aim is to help schools energise their bullying prevention strategies and communicate effectively with children and young people about the problem. This year’s campaign will focus particularly on how to tackle cyber bullying, which the charity says has grown at an alarming rate in recent years.
Beatbullying has developed free, downloadable lesson plans and assembly presentations, designed to engage both students and teachers with the issue.
Wristbands and sticker packs, in support of the campaign, are also available from the charity’s website. This year, wristbands will be worn by pop group N-DUBZ and boxing champion Joe Calzaghe, who have pledged their support to “Anti-Bullying Week”.
