The government in England has put in place a range of changes intended to improve the adoption process. One major change involved creating regionalised adoption services. This means that local authorities (LA), and in some cases Voluntary Adoption Agency (VAA), in the same areas join together to form one larger organisation, known as a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA). Together they can pool resources and provide improved adoption and adoption support services. Further information on RAAs can be found here.
