Supporting Your Child with Additional Needs at Home, School and Beyond

Gary Aubin is the author of The Lone SENDCO and is a qualified teacher and SENCO. He has worked with the Education Endowment Foundation and Whole Education and supported the Department for Education in relation to SEND. He also writes the SENDMattersUK blog. His co-author is the parent of two children, one of whom is autistic. Previously Hull worked in the Education and Society Department of the British Council.

Chapters include:
Definitions, Diagnoses and the Education System
Supporting Your Child’s Learning
Supplementary Therapies
Life at Home
Support for Parents and Siblings

This is a very detailed and supportive text that is packed with information, guidance and short case studies and ‘real-life’ stories. It covers a very broad range of topics, as well as a glossary, reading list and links to support organisations. The combination the authors’ experiences and long friendship is reflected in the tone and content of the text.

An excellent resource that will benefit parents and others supporting children with additional needs.
