A charity providing telephone and online support for teachers experiencing common mental health problems has seen a marked increase in its service use over the past year. The Teacher Support Network fielded 100 more calls in June this year compared to June 2008, and overall service use was double that of June 2008, with the charity dealing with over 20,000 telephone and online interactions with teachers.

A statement from the charity claimed that “This rise in interactions illustrates the fact that problems over money, wellbeing and stress in relation to working conditions continue to affect the profession.”
