BEAR: A Story of Autism and Difference

The author first became interested in autism during high school psychology in the USA and this interest has continued throughout her professional career as a teacher, advisor and university tutor for the National SENCo Award. She has contributed to regional and national autism projects, with resources she’s created being used internationally.

This book was developed in response to the need to create a resource that would support and develop an understanding of why some children behave differently.

This is a lovely storybook that is subtle, gentle and informative and deserves a place in primary schools and other settings.

The illustrations effectively support the content and the book provides teachers and others with ways to open up conversations about learning differences and behaviours.
