The author of this storybook is the mother of two children, one of whom has a rare neurodevelopmental disorder. In this, her first book, she sets out to spark conversations around disability and inclusion. The illustrator is a professional in her field, with a passion for creating ‘educational, imaginative rainbows of hope and colour’.

The book, written in rhyme, tells the story of a ‘Supersiblings Gang’, who use their knowledge of additional needs to help their brothers and sisters and to teach their friends how to interact with children with disabilities.

There is a section at the end of the book that encourages the young reader to check off whether they are the ‘right’ person to join the gang and also acknowledgment of the support they have received in developing this supportive resource, plus links to other organisations.

There is clearly a lot of effort, passion and commitment that has brought this book into production, and the author has also developed a company (Because of You, Sib) that offers a range of coaching, wellness and digital resources.
