New Children’s Minister Edward Timpson has announced the extension of funding for the Achievement for All (AfA) programme for an additional two years.

AfA is a Government backed charity which supports schools to improve the aspirations, access and achievement of learners and young people.

Mr Timpson said the programme “is a good example of where an evidence based programme is delivered within schools with close coordination of parents, teachers and staff and has delivered really impressive results”.

The Minister was giving evidence to the Education Select Committee on the Government’s proposed reforms to SEN and disability.

  1. We are an outstanding secondary phase special school converting to academy on 1st April and having difficulties with a local authority that is unwilling to see our provision develop in response to parental choice. We use pupil performance data to monitor our standars and would be very interested in participating in this piece of work.
