Educationalists in the dark over building plans

Nearly two thirds of people working in education feel confused and misled and have found it difficult to get the information they need regarding funding for school building projects, says new research from the Building Schools Exhibition and Conference (BSEC).

The study revealed that only four per cent of those surveyed felt fully informed and up to date with information from the Government, while half said that they do not know what will happen to school building policies in future or where to go for information.

Samuel Jennings, BSEC Event Director, said the research confirms that “following many recent government changes to the funding of school buildings, there is a great deal of confusion among those in education on how much money will be available and how it will work in 2011.”
