A new online forum for young disabled people to share information and advice and connect with each other has been launched by the charity Scope.

The forum, called Meeting Point is aimed at young disabled people aged between ten and eighteen years. It was established in response to an increase in the number of calls received by the charity’s helpline about young disabled people who are feeling isolated, different and misunderstood.

Jacqui Piper, coordinator at Scope, said: “Many teenagers find it difficult to talk to their parents about their feelings and disabled teenagers are no different. Increasingly we’re hearing about young disabled people who feel frustrated and angry at being misunderstood. We wanted to create a safe space for them to come together, to share their experiences, find information and talk through issues they are experiencing with their peers.”

Meeting Point can be found online at: www.scope.org.uk/meetingpoint
