A project to support school children with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) has been launched by UK charity OCD Action.

The OCD At School project, developed in conjunction with the Maudsley Hospital and The City Bridge Trust, aims to bring awareness of OCD into the school environment, helping educators to spot the signs of OCD and provide help to pupils with the disorder.

A network of parent volunteers is visiting schools to meet with SENCOs, school nurses and counsellors and a resource pack is being made available to schools, parents and young people with OCD. The project will also involve a training day for educational professionals, to be held in September this year and a summer meet up day for parents and young people with OCD.
